PCM internal temperature sensor circuit high input

DETECTION CONDITION

•  The output voltage of the barometric pressure sensor (PCM integrated) is more than 4.9 V for a continuous 5 s when all of the following conditions are met.

MONITORING CONDITIONS

―  Battery voltage: 8—20 V

―  0.5 s have elapsed after the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on)

Diagnostic support note

•  This is a continuous monitor (CCM).

•  The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.

•  FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.

•  DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  Ambient temperature is too low

•  PCM malfunction

―  PCM internal temperature sensor malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA/SNAPSHOT DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED • Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA/snapshot data been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA/snapshot data on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY • Verify related Service Information availability. • Is any related Service Information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information. • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) • Switch the ignition ON (engine off) and wait for 30 s or more. • Perform the DTC Reading Procedure. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE • Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)
4		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
