Maintenance mode switching
Detection condition
•  Electric parking brake system switches to maintenance mode.

Possible cause
Note
•  If the electric parking brake system switches to the maintenance mode, a DTC is output. After the maintenance mode is finished, the DTC is automatically cleared by switching the ignition ON from OFF (LOCK).
•  Electric parking brake control module malfunction

VERIFY IF IN MAINTENANCE MODE
•  Finish the maintenance mode.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Retrieve the electric parking brake control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the electric parking brake control module, then go to the next step.

No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
