REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [4WD]

1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
2. Release the electric parking brake.
3. Switch the ignition off.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
5. For the 4SD, remove the following parts:

7. Disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor connector.

8. Press the grommet tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure and detach them from the vehicle body.
9. Press the grommet in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and press out the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor toward the outside of the vehicle.
10. Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE ROTATION.)
11. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
13. After installation, verify that there is no twisting in the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor.

1. Pull aside the mudguard and remove the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor.
