Diagnostic Procedure
Step |
Inspection |
Action |
---|---|---|---|
1
VERIFY FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) DTCs AGAIN
• Clear the DTC for the front body control module (FBCM) using the M-MDS.
• Retrieve the front body control module (FBCM) DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 12.
2
LIMITS TO MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT
• Operate the light switch in TNS position.
• Are there any lights among the following which are not illuminated?
Yes
All lights are not illuminated:
• Go to the next step.
Parking light (LH) is not illuminated:
• Parking light (bulb type):
• Parking light (LED type):
Parking light (RH) is not illuminated:
• Parking light (bulb type):
• Parking light (LED type):

INSPECT FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) CONNECTOR
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the front body control module (FBCM) connector.
• Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
• Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 11.
4
INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND IN PARKING LIGHT CONTROL CIRCUIT
• Verify that the front body control module (FBCM) connector is disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:
• Front combination light (LH) terminal D—Front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J
• Front combination light (RH) terminal D—Front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J
If there is a common connector:
• Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
• Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
If there is no common connector:
• Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.
Go to Step 11.
No
Go to Step 11.
5
INSPECT PARKING LIGHT BULB (LH)
• Inspect the parking light bulb (LH).
• Is the parking light bulb (LH) normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the parking light bulb (LH), then go to Step 11.
