FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Caution

•  Affix the protective tape to the position (vehicle body side) shown in the figure to prevent scratches and damage.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Remove the set plate. (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the fresh-air duct installation bolt. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

4.  Remove the fastener which can be verified at the position where the fresh-air duct was pulled back.

5.  Remove fasteners.

6.  Remove screws.

7.  Remove fasteners.

8.  Remove screws.

9.  Slightly bend back front undercover No.1 and remove fasteners shown in the figure.

10.  Remove fasteners.

11.  Bend back the mudguard and then remove screw.

12.  Grasp the front bumper end, move it in the direction of arrow shown in the figure, and remove the front bumper from the grommet.

13.  Pull the edge of the front bumper in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure, then remove tabs.

Caution

•  The front bumper and front bumper slider are engaged firmly. If they are disengaged forcibly the bumper could fall and be damaged. Perform the servicing carefully when disengaging the front bumper from the front bumper slider.

•  When disengaging the front bumper from the front bumper slider, the front bumper could fall and be damaged. Support the front bumper so that it does not fall.

14.  Pull the front bumper in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it while detaching guides.

15.  Disconnect the front fog light connector. (with front fog lights)

16.  Disconnect the front ultrasonic sensor connector. (with parking sensor system)

17.  Disconnect the signature wing illumination connector. (with signature wing illumination)

18.  While pressing the hook of the joint pipe in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull the joint pipe in the direction of arrow (2) to disconnect the joint pipe from headlight cleaner motor. (with headlight cleaner system)

19.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
