1. When the rear window defogger switch on the climate control unit is turned on, an ON/OFF control request signal is sent to the front body control module (FBCM) through the instrument cluster as a CAN signal.
2. When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the ON/OFF control request signal, it supplies the battery voltage to the rear window defogger relay.
3. When the battery voltage is supplied to the rear window defogger relay, a switch inside the rear window defogger relay is turned on.
4. When the switch inside the rear window defogger relay is turned on, the battery voltage is supplied to the rear window defogger/heated outer mirrors to operate them.
5. When approx. 15 min have elapsed since the front body control module (FBCM) received the rear window defogger operation request signal, it receives an ambient temperature signal from the PCM, and if the PCM detects an ambient temperature of 0 °C or less, the front body control module (FBCM) continues supplying power to the rear window defogger relay. (Ambient temperature of 0 degrees C or less detected)
6. When approx. 15 min have elapsed since the front body control module (FBCM) received the rear window defogger operation request signal, it receives an ambient temperature signal from the PCM, if the PCM detects an ambient temperature of 1 °C or more, the front body control module (FBCM) stops supplying power to the rear window defogger and the rear window defogger operation is stopped. (Ambient temperature of 1 degree C or more detected)
