Note

•  For the fuel gauge sender unit removal/installation, refer to the fuel pump removal/installation because the fuel gauge sender unit is integrated with the fuel pump. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

1.  Verify that the resistance at fuel gauge sender unit terminals D and C is as follows according to the height of the float.

Resistance when float is in the highest position

•  18.5—21.5 ohms

Resistance when float is in the lowest position

•  197—203 ohms

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the fuel gauge sender unit. (See FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [2WD].)

SKYACTIV-D 2.2

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Remove the rear seat cushion. (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the fuel gauge sender unit. (See FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [2WD].)

4.  Verify that the resistance at fuel gauge sender unit terminals C and A is as follows according to the height of the float.

Resistance when float is in the highest position

•  18.5—21.5 ohms

Resistance when float is in the lowest position

•  197—203 ohms
