Purpose

• The engine coolant temperature gauge notifies the driver of the engine coolant temperature.

Functions

• The instrument cluster displays the engine coolant temperature based on the engine coolant temperature signal sent from the PCM via CAN communication.

Structure/Construction

• The engine coolant temperature gauge is displayed in the LCD (without multi-information display)/multi-information display (with multi-information display) of the instrument cluster.

• The engine coolant temperature gauge consists of 15 (without multi-information display)/13 (with multi-information display) digital needles.

Operation

1. When the instrument cluster receives (1) an engine coolant temperature signal via CAN communication from the PCM while the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), it displays/does not display (2) the engine coolant temperature gauge digital needle in the LCD (without multi-information display)/multi-information display (with multi-information display) of the instrument cluster.
