Abnormal message from 4WD control module
DETECTION CONDITION
•  Correct data cannot be received from from the 4WD control module.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
•  Refer to “Fail-safe Function Malfunction Contents”. (See DTC TABLE [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].)
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  4WD control module malfunction

VERIFY 4WD CONTROL MODULE DTC
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the 4WD control module DTC inspection.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM].)
DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the DSC HU/CM.
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the 4WD control module then go to the next step.

No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].)
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
