FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning
-
• Handling a front seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling the front seat (side air bag integrated). (See

• If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the front seat, the front seat will operate accidentally while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the front seat, shake it up and down and verify that the sliding mechanism on the both sides are locked.

Caution
-
• If the slide lever is operated after the front seat is removed, the left/right slide positions will deviate and the adjuster unit could be damaged after the front seat is installed. After removing a front seat, do not operate the slide lever.
• Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a front seat.
• When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.
Removal
1. Switch the ignition off (LOCK).
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) 3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the front seat side cover. (See FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Remove the fasteners and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system/with position memory system)
6. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system/without position memory system)
7. Disconnect the connectors shown in the figure.
8. Move the front seat cushion trim in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame.
9. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame.
10. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame.

Note
-
• There are two types of hooks on the front side of the front seat cushion trim, A and B types. The hook shape differs depending on the type.
11. Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), and (5) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat cushion trim from the front seat cushion pad.

Caution
-
• If a C-ring is damaged while removing or installing the front seat cushion trim and front seat cushion pad, it may not be possible to install the front seat cushion trim and front seat cushion pad normally. When removing or installing the front seat cushion trim and front seat cushion pad, be careful not to damage the C-rings.
• If a C-ring is damaged, replace it with a new one.
Installation
1. Align the front seat cushion trim with the installation hole of the front seat cushion pad, and install the C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), and (5) shown in the figure.

Caution
-
• If a C-ring is damaged while removing or installing the front seat cushion trim and front seat cushion pad, it may not be possible to install the front seat cushion trim and front seat cushion pad normally. When removing or installing the front seat cushion trim and front seat cushion pad, be careful not to damage the C-rings.
• If a C-ring is damaged, replace it with a new one.

• Wrinkling can be easily prevented by installing the C-rings with a certain amount of tightening.
2. Press the front seat cushion pad inward while pulling the front seat cushion trim outward.
3. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and install the front seat cushion trim to the front seat cushion frame.

• There are two types of hooks on the front side of the front seat cushion trim, A and B types. The hook shape differs depending on the type.
4. Move the front seat cushion trim in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and install the front seat cushion trim to the front seat cushion frame.
5. Align the front seat cushion trim with the shape of the front seat cushion pad while pressing the front seat cushion pad outward.
6. Pull the front seat cushion trim in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the wrinkles on the front seat cushion trim.
7. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and install the front seat cushion trim to the front seat cushion frame
8. Pull the front seat cushion trim in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the wrinkles on the front seat cushion trim.
9. Install the fasteners and install the front seat cushion trim to the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system/with position memory system)
10. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and install the front seat cushion trim to the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system/without position memory system)
11. Connect the connectors shown in the figure.
12. Install the front seat side cover. (See FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
13. Install the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
14. Install the headrest.
15. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
