STEERING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

•  Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you.Read the SRS air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module. 1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].)

2.  Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL..) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION.)

3.  Grasp the shaded areas shown in the figure, and pull the steering switch in the direction of the arrow in the order of (1), (2) while detaching tabs A, tabs B.

4.  Insert the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure, while pressing the clip tabs in the direction of the arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clips in the direction of the arrow (2) to detach the clip tabs from the steering wheel.

5.  Disconnect the steering switch connector.

6.  Remove the steering switch.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
