FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT INSPECTION [4WD]

Fuel gauge sender unit (main)

1. Remove the fuel gauge sender unit (main). (See FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [4WD].)

2. Reconnect the fuel gauge sender unit (main) connector to the set plate.

3. Verify that the resistance at fuel gauge sender unit (main) terminals A and C is as follows according to the height of the float.

Resistance when float is in the highest position

• 18.5—21.5 ohms

Resistance when float is in the lowest position

• 197—203 ohms

• If not as indicated in the table, replace the fuel gauge sender unit (main). (See FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT INSPECTION [4WD].)

Fuel gauge sender unit (sub)

1. Remove the fuel gauge sender unit (sub). (See FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [4WD].)

2. Verify that the resistance at fuel gauge sender unit (sub) terminals A and B is as follows according to the height of the float.

Resistance when float is in the highest position

• 18.5—21.5 ohms

Resistance when float is in the lowest position

• 197—203 ohms
