With Parking Sensor Switch

Note

•  The parking buzzer volume change mode is activated by operating the parking sensor switch and ignition using the specified procedure.

•  While in the parking buzzer volume change mode, the parking buzzer sounds for approx. 1 s when activating the mode and the parking sensor indicator flashes while activating the mode. If the parking buzzer does not sound or the parking sensor indicator does not flash, the procedure for activating the parking buzzer volume change mode may have been performed incorrectly. Switch the ignition off and repeat the procedure from Step 1.

1.  Perform the following procedure to determine the correct adjustment procedure.

Without Parking Sensor Switch

Caution

•  Shorting any terminal other than one that requires servicing may damage the vehicle. When shorting a terminal using a jumper wire, always verify that the jumper wire is connected to the correct terminal.

Front parking sensor buzzer

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Passenger-side front side trim (see FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5)  Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].)

4.  Ground parking assist unit terminal V to the body using a jumper wire.

5.  Switch the ignition ON.

6.  Verify that the parking sensor buzzer sounds once.

7.  Disconnect the body ground.

8.  Ground parking assist unit terminal V to the body for approx. 0.5 s using a jumper wire to change the parking sensor buzzer volume.

Rear parking sensor buzzer

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(5)  Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].)

4.  Perform the following procedure to determine the correct adjustment procedure.
