Outline

•  Positioned at the rear of the vehicle, the rear body control module (RBCM) performs numerous system controls for functions at the vehicle rear.

Function

•  The rear body control module (RBCM) controls the system based on the input/output signals.

Interior light control system control
The rear body control module (RBCM) changes the illumination condition and illumination level of the interior light (door position) according to whether the doors are opened/closed.

Back-up light control
The back-up light illuminates in conjunction with the shift operation.

Power door lock system control
A power door lock system has been adopted in which all doors and the liftgate are locked/unlocked when the driver's door is locked/unlocked using the driver's door lock knob, or the door key cylinder is operated.

Rear wiper system control
Equipped with continuous, auto-stop, intermittent wiper, and synchronized washer and wiper operation.

Rear fog light system control
The rear fog light illuminates in conjunction with the operating light switch and the rear fog light switch.

Trunk lid opener system control
A trunk lid opener system has been adopted in which the trunk lid can be opened just by pressing the trunk lid opener switch.

Liftgate opener system control
A liftgate opener system has been adopted in which the liftgate can be opened just by pressing the liftgate opener switch.

CAN (Controller Area Network)
Sends and receives signals between CAN system-related modules using the CAN system.

ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM
The rear body control module (RBCM) is equipped with an on-board diagnosis function which records DTCs in the event of a malfunction.

Fail-safe


Room light control system

•  If an error is detected in a combination of the door lock-link switch signals, the rear body control module (RBCM) controls the interior light based on the signal before the error occurred.
•  If the CAN signal cannot be received normally, the rear body control module (RBCM) controls the interior light based on the signal last received. If the CAN signal cannot be received normally for 5 s or more, the rear body control module (RBCM) stops the interior light control.


Back-up light

•  Not applicable.


Power door lock system

•  Not applicable.


Rear wiper system

•  If the CAN signal cannot be received normally, the rear body control module (RBCM) controls the rear wiper based on the signal last received. If the CAN signal cannot be received normally for 5 s or more, the rear body control module (RBCM) stops the rear wiper control.


Trunk lid opener system / Liftgate opener system

•  If the CAN signal cannot be received normally, the Trunk lid/liftgate open operation is inhibited.


Theft-deterrent system
